Uses
As a software dev, I use a lot of different tools in my day-to-day activities. Here are the ones I use the most.
Editor + Terminal
- PHPStorm is my editor of choice for large Laravel projects. I use the Laravel plugin to get autocomplete and syntax highlighting.
- I use Sublime Text for smaller projects and quick edits. Every once in a while I will fully switch to Sublime for a bit but I always come back to PHPStorm.
- For terminal stuff I use Warp
- The font I have been using for the past few years is MonoLisa with a bit of customization from the default.
Desktop
- I do all my browsing in Brave currently, I am considering switching to Arc for a bit and seeing how it goes.
- CleanShot is my screenshot tool of choice.
- Linear for issue tracking and project management.
- For my email I use Spark. I have tried pretty much every email client and this is the one I settled on.
- Raycast is essential for navigating my system and finding things quickly. I switched from Alfred to Raycast a few years ago and, while I miss the ability to resize the width of the window, I have been very happy with Raycasts extension ecosystem
Hardware
- I have a 2023 16" MacBook Pro 128GM of memory and a 2TB SSD.
- At the office, I use a 32" Curved Samsung monitor.
- A Jarvis standing desk
- And a Blue Yeti mic with no camera... I just use my phone for that.
- Logitech MX Master 3 mouse
- Finally, I just use a 60% Apple keyboard for all my typing needs.
Other Items that deserve mention
- Apple AirPods for audio
- Nothing Ear for audio as well
- iPhone 14 Pro Max for video calls
- And an Alpaka Elements Backpack Pro for when I need to carry stuff around to coffee shops or home for the weekend.
